§ 14-7. Adoption of chapter by city within county boundaries.
In accordance with state law, Cherokee County may enter into agreements with the City of Woodstock located within the territorial limits of Cherokee County to provide animal control services within the corporate limits of such municipality.
Pursuant to such agreement, any municipality in the county may adopt this chapter. Any municipality adopting this chapter must authorize enforcement by the Cherokee County marshal's office. Municipal ordinances must provide that the incorporated areas shall be subject to the fees charged by the marshal's office and that all fees charged by the Cherokee County marshal's office shall be retained by the county to defray the costs of the marshal's office related to animal control other than fines and fees levied by the municipal court for violation of municipal ordinances.

The city and the Cherokee County board of commissioners may from time to time enter into an intergovernmental agreement for animal control services.
