§ 18-41. Building inspector; duties.

  • The city building inspector shall:

    (1)

    Enforce all ordinances or codes relating to buildings and construction and inspect all buildings or structures being erected or altered as frequently as may be necessary to ensure compliance with city ordinances or codes;

    (2)

    Make or cause to be made, at any reasonable hour, entries into buildings or premises where the work of altering, repairing or constructing is going on, for the purpose of making inspections;

    (3)

    Issue written stop work orders on construction, alteration or repair of buildings in the city when such work is being done in violation of any provision of any ordinance or code relating thereto, or in violation of the zoning ordinance;

    (4)

    Act as ex officio plumbing and electrical inspector and perform all such duties as may be connected with that office; and

    (5)

    Exercise such other powers and duties as may be delegated to him from time to time by the city manager or city council.

    (6)

    Perform code enforcement.
