§ 42-35. Firefighters; qualifications; training.
(a)
Applicants shall have the following qualifications to become a member of the fire department:
(1)
Be at least 18 years of age;
(2)
Not have been convicted of a felony within ten years prior to employment; and
(3)
Have good moral character as determined by an investigation under the procedure approved by the Georgia Firefighters Standards and Training Council.
(b)
Upon employment, firefighters shall:
(1)
Complete all training required in the Woodstock Fire Department's Standard Operating Procedures and attain state certification as a firefighter within the first 12 months after being appointed a full-time paid member of the department.
(2)
Train, drill, or study as required by ISO and Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council and any other appropriate accrediting agency following the first year of employment.
